Ouirgane Valley

L’Amandier lies in the Ouirgane Valley, south of Marrakech, ten minutes beyond the market town of Asni. Being right in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains is what makes this truly special in the world of Moroccan villa development.

People seem to fall into two camps… those who want to be right amidst the vibrancy and chaos of Marrakech and those who prefer to indulge in the rare and abundant serenity of the Atlas Mountains. We fell into the latter and found a place that is indescribably beautiful and unique. The questions we are always asked is ‘what is there to do there?’ Read on and discover ...

Trekking: Ouirgane to Kasbah Tamadot

A friend and I recently took it into our heads to lace up our hiking boots, pack a picnic lunch, and employ Said as our guide.

Destination: Kasbah Tamadot (Richard Branson’s Moroccan Retreat), Asni.

The local market of Asni

Posted by Mikaela (Morocco based) on May 31st, 2009 · Leave a comment

On an average day the local town of Asni (around 10 kms from L’Amandier) is bustling and the shopkeepers do a brisk trade with the local community. But on Saturdays it really comes alive. Saturday is market day. People from all the surrounding areas make the trip into town to sell their produce, catch up [...]
