Tucked into the crook of the Imlil valley near Asni, is Richard Branson’s Moroccan Retreat; Kasbah Tamadot. It is only 20 minutes drive from L’Amandier Villas, which makes it a very handy spot to have lunch, coffee, or cocktails on the terrace. It is certainly the most luxurious hotel in the vicinity of Ouirgane and it is definitely worth a visit.

A recent addition to the already stunning accommodation on offer at Kasbah Tamadot, are the ‘tents’. Now I hesitate to say the word ‘tent’ in case you conjure up images of nights under flimsy, flapping canvas, lying bundled into your sleeping bag in a desperate effort to keep warm. Oh no. This is definitely not what we are talking about here. These tents are pure luxury, with not a flimsy part or a flapping bit in sight.
The beds are swaddled in beautiful linen and there are mountains of pillows…

The main living area of the tent is huge, comfortable and decorated in simple but tasteful Moroccan style. Beni Ouirain rugs are underfoot and the lamps, created by Moroccan artisans, cast soft light in the evenings…

The bathrooms are designed for pampering, with huge walk in showers, rolltop baths and anything else you could possibly want for. You can even lay in the bath looking out at the Atlas Mountains if the fancy takes you…

Personally, I think I would prefer to do that from the plunge pool on the private terrace. Cocktail in hand…naturally.
