Early in the year, preparations began for the second phase of building at L’Amandier. Our architect Nick consulted his plans, produced an extremely long tape measure and directed us all in a remarkably simple method of positioning the next phase of villas to their exact places on the land.

The ‘chairs’ (the seats of the villas) were installed and the ground was broken. The digging of foundations was underway…

The villas were growing at a rapid rate. The concrete was poured, the iron-work started, the engineers supervised and checked and certified…

The supporting columns started to look like a petrified and somewhat regimented forest…

And the first ceilings followed swiftly…

I’m having trouble keeping up, but I’ll keep you posted.

Love the new photos, Mikaela. I am always amazed, when looking through your blog, how cleanly this project is being built using mainly simple tools. The process, as well as the buildings, reflect the environment. Thank you!
