As a family business, it only seemed right that my sister Mikaela should join us…

Ha!  She didn’t see it coming!

A casual invite to join me on an interiors sourcing trip to Marrakech in December 2008 was the start of a new life for her.  She had never been to Morocco.  It took literally minutes before the seduction of Morocco began to take hold.

Her love of all places new and rich cultures soon had her pounding the streets with me, united in my mission and it was as if it was the most natural thing in the world.

The decision that standard furnishing package options were not for us and the greater sales drive that this economic climate demands, meant we needed one of us of the ground – and it couldn’t be me.

I casually turned towards her, and saw the dawning realisation spread across her face…. a shrug of the shoulders and a ‘pourqoui pas’ we had our newest member of the team.

A whistle-stop trip back to the UK, a pack of the bags and there she was, our girl in Marrakech.

So if anyone is visiting Marrakech and would like to learn a little more about L’Amandier’s villas, then drop her a line (Mikaela@mhkinternational.com).  She would be very happy to meet you.
