My most recent trip out to Marrakech at the beginning of January was a huge milestone for me. As we drove over the brow of the hill, our vision unfolded before my eyes. Against a backdrop of piercingly blue skies and snow capped mountains stood four villas in their carcass form.
I had to pinch myself. All that time spent applying for planning permission, raising finances and architectural planning is finally paying off. And they look really beautiful. Somewhere in the back of my mind there was always a danger that there was a chance we would ruin the landscape by building on this plateau, or that the villas would not blend into the landscape. But what Nick (our architect) has achieved is remarkable. The villas as a stand alone are magnificent but do absolutely nothing to detract away from their majestic surroundings. The walls are built and the roofs are on which gave me the first real sense of the footprint of the villas and importantly, the space around them.

The North facing view from the terrace of Villa 5 – being up there on the terrace made me realise how each luxury villa will still have the 360 degree vista without being overlooked.

Anwar and Nick double checking all measurements.

Lunch time – chicken tagine made by Said’s mother and sister never tasted so good!
